Therapist and Founder of Bloom Haven Counseling

The heart behind bloom haven

Hi! I'm Shannon. I'm so glad you're here. Seeking support for yourself or your child can feel overwhelming, and taking the first step toward therapy isn't always easy. From our very first conversation, my goal is for you to feel welcomed, supported, and reassured that you don't have to navigate this alone.

Healing begins with connection, and a trusting therapeutic relationship creates the foundation for change. I strive to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can be yourself, knowing you'll be met with understanding rather than judgment. Whether I'm helping a young child work through big emotions through play, supporting a teen through the challenges of adolescence, or walking alongside an adult through life's ups and downs, my focus is on helping each person discover their strengths, build healthy coping skills, and find hope for what's ahead.

Everyone deserves to feel understood, supported, and capable of creating a life that feels purposeful. My hope is that when you walk into Bloom Haven Counseling, you'll find more than just a therapist—you'll find a place where you feel safe to heal, encouraged to grow, and empowered to believe that lasting change is possible.

the path that led me here

My path to becoming a therapist began from the other side of the room. As a teenager, I experienced firsthand the value of having a safe, supportive place to process life's challenges. Feeling heard, understood, and accepted had a lasting impact on my own journey and inspired me to create that same kind of space for others.

Although counseling wasn't my original career path, it didn't take long to realize it was exactly where I was meant to be. I initially pursued a degree in microbiology before realizing my passion wasn't in the laboratory—it was in helping people. Looking back, changing my path to counseling was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Over the years, life's unexpected twists and challenges have continued to shape both who I am and the therapist I've become. Those experiences have deepened my empathy, strengthened my belief that healing is possible, and reinforced the importance of processing difficult emotions rather than allowing them to define us.

Today, I'm grateful to combine those personal experiences with years of clinical experience and specialized training to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each client's unique needs.

a little more about me

When I'm not in the therapy office, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, staying active, or finding creative outlets through art and home renovations. Whether I'm cheering from the sidelines, playing at the park, going for a walk, or relaxing with a good book, I cherish the simple moments that remind me what matters most—appreciating the little things and being fully present with the people I love.

WHEN YOU'RE READY, I'M HERE.

I'd be honored to support you along the way.
